The operating bracket which is under the center console lid cover will not keep the lid standing upright. I need a replacement. I do not need the lid but just the bracket mechanism. Does anyone have a well functioning one for sale? Thanks.

A common issue with a lot of cars. The spring mechanism on a console lid can wear out over time, and it's frustrating when the lid won't stay open. You're correct that the bracket mechanism is a separate part from the lid itself. The bad news is that it is a very small part that is not sold on its own. It is part of the hinge assembly, and the hinge assembly is often sold as a part of the entire center console lid.

Your best bet is to look for a used one. You can try searching on online marketplaces like eBay or a salvage yard. You might be able to find a well functioning one for sale from someone who is parting out a car. Another option is to try a company that specializes in car interior parts. They might have a used one for sale or they might have a replacement part that is an aftermarket alternative.

A lot of the time, the spring mechanism can just be a bit loose, and a little bit of force can get it back into place. However, if the spring itself is broken, you will need a new one. It's a very common issue, so you should be able to find a used one for a reasonable price.

I purchased a used lid and harvested the spring bracket. My original bracket had a bent and broken metal retainer tab. That is why the lid would not stay open. Poor quality from Nissan the maker of the Infiniti.

Glad you got the issue resolved.
