is there a common problem with this thing? i just bought an '01 i30, amazing car but the sub isn't working at all, all other speakers work perfectly just wana know of any possible common problems before i go around messing with it.
Mine cuts in and out for no reason, not like hitting a bump or anything. I've had audio people look at it and say they can't find the problem, "probably just need to replace the system since you can't replace individual components b/c of the cost". I even went by the dealer just for s&g's and was quoted a grand for a replacement sub, no thanks!!
Yes this is a common problem. You can probably get a new subwoofer from the maxima.org website from the 5th gen forum. You can probably get it for cheap.
