Have an error code P0305, #5 misfire, on a 2000 I30. Decided I would start with the endpoint of the problem and work backwards. Pulled the plug and coil from #5 and swapped it with #3, figuring if it was plug or coil related the problem would transfer to #3. After resetting/erasing all error codes, the car ran fine for about 30 miles. The light came on again and still checks as #5 misfire.
This is an intermittent problem as one time on startup the car runs great and the next time it may run as though on 5 cylinders with no code reset or any other adjustments/changes.
Suggestions on the next step or something I may be overlooking?
