So last weekend when I was at the dealer for an oil change, I noticed I had a spot of rust that was forming from the "chrome" garnish on the tailgate. It was bleeding over onto the paint. So I had them take a look and they agreed to fix it under warranty. Perfect I thought, they also said the needed the truck for the week and would give me a loaner. WTF. I haven't called them back yet to confirm why so long...

This got me thinking about some other areas that I thought would be affected by the winter weather. So when I got home I checked the back up camera housing in the tailgate and sure enough it is also rusting pretty good. Not surprising since the hatch accumulates tons of snow and salt in the winter.

I then went around to the front and checked the wiper arms and there are signs of rusting there too. Where the arm flips up, on that pivot, the black paint has started to bubble and will peel off soon. So I would imagine both wiper arms will need to be replaced shortly.

I guess what I am saying is that if you live in a climate that has a bit harsher environment compared to Beverly Hills (lol I'm talking about the weather, not the Real Housewives) then make sure you take a good look at some of the small stuff as its easy to over look those things and if it goes unrepaired, it makes the vehicle look a lot older than it is.
