Has anyone found a non-damaging way to rig the armrest so that it stays LOCKED in place? Right now it slides up and down at will when I get in the truck and when I accelerate and stop -- VERY annoying for me and my passengers. Over the past year of ownership, this has been the only comfort issue I have had with this suv.

Redesign recommendation for Infiniti: In future models, please add several "locking spots" along the track the armrest slides on. Also, beef up the leather pad on top to make it softer and more cushiony. Lastly, consider adding a storage component to the armrest lid. Right now it "SEEMS" as if there is a hidden button that would pop it open, but its just a large hollow, plastic lid with a thin strip of leather on top.

Any advice on stopping the armrest slip-slide tango would be greatly appreciated.

Is it still under warranty? Although the arm rest does not "lock" in place. Mine is quite rigid and definitely does not slide around. It takes a bit of effort to push it forward and back.

I would get the dealer to look at it and possibly change it out.

I agree on the extra storage up inside the top lid as well as the thin piece of hardly padded leather on top.

Good point. I never thought about this possibly being a defect. Oil change is due in a few weeks and I'll have them check it out.

Thanks!

yes in my Q the armrest needs some force to move it, however if your car is used its possible its just worn out.

Mine has always slid since purchasing brand new in 2011. Annoying. Mentioned it several times at service, they always say it's normal and nothing can be fixed.
It doesn't move by itself, but always when my arm is resting on it and I come to a stop or accelerate.

Tell the dealer it's not that it moves it's that it's moving really easy even at start and stops. It should not move that easily. It's a defect.

You may have the same issue my wife has....
Our armrest never moves on it's on. Never moves with me driving or as a passenger.
Put my wife in the passenger seat and when I come to a stop the armrest starts sliding forward because she is leaning on it so heavily.
May not be defective you may just be putting to much "emphasis" on it. :)

slide

Yeah what KCrebel says, LOL (wife !)

I told her if she keeps on I am going to put a 2x4 between the armrest and the clock on the dash !

Have a good one

I think I figured what's going on with ur armrest... she's talking and driving at the same time. Basically, she has her elbow on the armrest and head-to-phone puts a lot of pressure on elbow, which moves armrest. ... MYSTERY solved

I turn off the bluetooth all the time, because the person on the other side says it sounds like crap... and that's when I notice my center armrest moving

Front Center Console

Has anyone found a way to lock the center console from moving back and forth? It would be nice if Infiniti had some type of adjustable lock for this. Kind of annoying the way it slides back and forth.

thats been asked a time or two over the interwebs. there is no factory feature built in that will do as you wish. the arm rest is still super tight for me as it was when i got it.
