I just put some Cefiro 1 piece headlights on my otherwise stock 97 i30. I love the way they look, but the performance.... not so much. I have tried to adjust them without success. They just aren't as bright as my original headlights. In fact they are pretty dim directly in front of the car. I used my original headlights, and turn signals, (the side markers I just left off as there is no place to put them.
1) Do I need a hotter bulb?
2) Are the original cefiro bulbs also 9004's?
3) Do I need to alter the depth they sit in the headlight housing to change the beam pattern?

Thanks for your help.

I solved it. I did some research and I believe the cefiro came with H4's.... so I made a conversion harness and installed H4's. I CAN SEE! It must have to do with the filament orientation of the two bulbs. The H4 is arranged 90 degrees out from the 9004 - anyhoo, the headlight housings must be designed for the H4 because the difference is night and day (pun intended);)

Now to figure out which HID conversion to use.....

Cefiro Headlights

Where'd ya get 'em?

How do you "make" a harness? Is it as simple as cutting off the extra tabs?
