have not read any issues with Nissans DIG engine for the q yet. can you share a link that discusses any issues related to this engine?
yes early DI engines had concerns, and I read those a lot prior to purchasing the q. i have seen some in other cars with DI engines to use a catch can.
truth is its too early to tell if there will be any long term issues with DI and deposits, however to keep these deposits down, there are maintenance things one can do to help.
I bet you most of the demo that bought the q does not know the concerns of DIG engines and deposits so you may be hard pressed to find anyone who has done this to a late model qx and who also posts on internet forums.
what say ye? are you wanting to do this yourself? why not be the first to do it and post up a DIY?
In my opinion, i dont see any issues with this type of engine. ive not noticed any issue with engine performance, sluggish startups, delayed throttle response, or any nasty rubbish coming out of the exhaust pipe.
every now and again, i put my foot in the tank

and get the old revs up on this car.. an italian tune up as they call it, and this should blow out some junk. if you can't put your foot in the tank, put the car in manual and let the rpms climb a bit before changing gears...
