Hi all. I'm buying a used 2011 QX56 from a private party. It has 38K miles on it and the basic warranty expires in September of 2014 (power train expires 9/2016). The seller also prepaid services for it (one more oil change at 43K miles & mid service at 45K miles). Is there anything I should look for (common issues etc..)? Anything I should pay close attention to? Options are as follows: Theater package & 22" wheel/tire package. Also, is it a fair deal at $43,000? After doing my research, I believe it is. I just wanted some other opinions. Thanks in advance to any & all who chime in! :)

Does it have the touring or technology pkgs? The touring pkg includes hydraulic body motion control which makes a big difference in handling. If it doesn't have these two pkgs I would try to push the price closer to $40k. Since the vehicle is still under warranty and it's relatively new it's a low risk buy but you may want to take it to an Infiniti dealer and get a complimentary multi-point inspection or a full inspection. The most common complaint that I've heard about is foot pedal vibration but I haven't experienced it yet. You might want to check for that. Good luck!

It doesn't have either, and I really wanted the deluxe touring package for the body motion control, the nicer leather, the cooled seats and the dark walnut trim, but beggars can't be choosers :)

I doubt he'll go to $40K but I'll try my best to get him him as low as possible. It'll probably end up around $42K though. His ad is asking $46K, and I talked him down to $43K so far over the phone, but we'll see. The remaining services are worth at least $500-$1,000, so he's probably factoring that in.

Good luck! I just bought my 2011 QX used last December. I had a few minor issues with the battery and head unit which were both covered under warranty but the SUV has been flawless since.

Thanks for that marctronixx. I will definitely check for that. I hope it's one of the fortunate ones (unlike Ronretro & many others').
