bench seats appear to be rare!

QX looks like it will fit my family quite well. The problem is I prefer to buy my vehicles 1-2 years used.

and virtually NONE of the used QX's I see have the bench seat for 2011 onwards. This surprises me, as the bench is so much more practical.

Took me awhile to find what I wanted with the bench seat (about 4 months). The wait was worth it.

It must be a regional preference. When we started looking, all we could find with the equipment we wanted were bench seats. We eventually gave up 4WD just to get the captain's chairs with the rest of the features we wanted. Last time I was by the dealer, they still had 5 2011 - 2012 QX with bench seats in stock with varying equipment.

I pulled up their website this morning and it looks like they're down to one left:

On the other hand, they have about 10 with the captain's chairs now.

Maybe you're right about them being harder to find. I think I read something about production being 60% 7-passenger and 40% 8-passenger.

It is about 7:1 in sales of captains to bench at my dealer. I got the last 2012 last year with a bench seat.

Down in Texas, I was looking, and found more new QX56's with the bench seat, rather than the quad seats. I thought it to be strange, but I am new to the Infiniti family.
