I purchased a K&N filter, the K&N part number is 33-2456 but when I tried to install it last night it was slightly too big.

Anyone else tried an after market air filter and had any luck?

Hi All! False alarm on the K&N air filter 33-2456. I was able to get it to fit without problems.

If you're looking for a new air filter, I highly recommend K&N. They let more air through, thus more power to your car and are washable and can be re-used again and again, thus saving you money in the long run.

yes i agree with you 100% on te aftermarket air filters. there is not a dramatic increase in HP but they do let the engine breathe better over stock paper elements, which is always good.

i prefer the amsoil blue filters. to each his own and its great to have choices. :)

I installed one on my old 2004 QX. Probably ran it for almost 100K miles with it installed, worked great for me. Relatively easy to install, low maintenance. Plus it makes your truck sound really cool when you put your foot into it. Downside - every time I accelerated hard getting onto the toll road my wife would sigh and say "I have no idea why you buy a luxury SUV and then make it sound like a hillbilly truck". She obviously doesn't understand the testosterone factor... Around town though, not really noticeable I don't think.

Just traded that truck in a few months ago for a shiny new (looking) 2009. Love these trucks - this is my 5th Infiniti vehicle in about 12-13 years. :)

hi i am thinking about getting, have anyone who have one notice in change in gas milage ?

you will not notice any major gains in MPG by ONLY adding an air filter. you need other mods in place to get any beneficial gains.

Yeah, What Marc said for improvements.

Would like to have that killer exhaust Marc has : )

Have a good one!
