TLDR; gonna buy a 2020 or newer Q60 Luxe 3.0t in April, looking for advice on buying (things to look for and such, I've bought plenty of used cars, and I know the generic things to look for with any car, I'm just wondering if there are things specific to this car I need to know to look for so i don't get a lemon or something)

gonna save up about 13k-ish to use as a down payment and in April I plan on buying a used (maybe new but I doubt it) 2020 or newer Q60 Luxe 3.0t, id get a red sport but I'm 23 years old and according to google the insurance cost literally doubles when going from a luxe to a red sport.

I want a 2020 or newer because I require car play and I know there are a few small issues with heating and oil that seem to be fixed by the 2020 model.

- How much money do some of yall make? I'm asking bc I want to make sure I can afford this car. I'm currently making a gross pay of about $75K a year and my monthly expenses don't exceed $1500 (not including car payment)

- I wanna do some light modding, I'm planning on doing some kind of body kit to the car (i like cmst but I also like how wide-body's look), I wanna get the ark grip exhaust, upgrade the intake, and then get a custom tune that puts me somewhere between 400-475 hp (i know there are other things that have to be upgraded in order to not over heat after tunning, I didn't mention those as they are required), but ill want to own the car for a few years before doing any of this. with just the mods I mentioned how high of a risk is there for killing the turbos or engine? id like this car to last me 20 years so I can bring it to local car shows when I get old.

- how hard is it to work on this car yourself? I've only owned chevy cars and worked on those, I've always avoided imports as working on something new sounds scary but I've been looking up repair videos for the Q60 and all I've found is brake pad replacement and changing the oil which is the same as any car.

- other than the belt are there things that are bound to go out over time that ill have to replace? how much money should I keep in my savings account just for repairs per year? (i don't plan on hot rodding it nonstop but I do have a heavy foot)

just talking in general kriss kross

-why tune it up? useless and wasted money, if ya aint racing why step the game up? keep it stock for street use 405hp enuff except u a flex boi, but trust me invest the money in styling or a car in the future, my next goal for example is a Nissan R35 GT-R ;) im 33 meanwhile and dont wanna die living a boring life frfr, as said if you aint racing dont invest in a tune. been there dont that, in the end its been 12+k in a civic ej6/em1 in usa (550whp fwd) & infiniti g35 (500whp) i could have for something else or even the GT-R.

-im driving a Q50 3.0t AWD in Germany and i do between 2.3-2.8k € a month ~34k/year, not even the half of you depending on the shifts i do, and i can easily afford it (360€ insurance/155€ taxes a year) dont know how its bout there for you but bet way cheaper/but q50s are rare cars here so parts are expensive

-work on it mechanical wise is aight if ya dont have two left hands, but just mostly can forget bout the electronic stuff

To answer your question, rather than judge your opinion, you'll need new tires straight away...ditch the Dunlops, they are dangerous and poor performers. Likewise, if you're going Ark Grip, invest in lower downpipes, minimum, and catted full downpipes, if your wallet will support it. Lastly, does no good to have more power and not be able to put it to the ground (one tire fire.) LSD and accompanying supporting upgrades are a must, on RWD or AWD. I don't know how to tell where you're from, but the Q50/60 is predominantly for 'the north American market'. Subsequently, there are tons of aftermarket parts and a good number or world class tuners available.

I don't know where our friend above is getting the numbers, but the RS puts, roughly 370whp to the ground...I dont't recall baseline torque. Most people and manufacturers - see above - brag on big numbers, measured at the fly wheel (not accounting for slack and decrease in drive train: wothless. I would call your plans stage 1-ish tune. You should expect around 415whp and 470wtq, give or take, based on the health of your platform and your tuner...that is power to the ground. You'll be giddy with those numbers on tap for a 'grocery gitter', I assure you. V-8 killer. 5.0s, Chargers, Camaros, even CT4-V Blackwings (with much higher hp and tq ratings, look it up) will fall if they wrangle with you.

Good luck and welcome to your addiction.
