certain trim models have air shocks on the back. when the weight in back (lots of people, cargo, hauling a trailer, etc) loads the car, the compressor kicks in and fill the bladders up. when the load is removed, the air bleeds out.
i dont know if i would call this "air ride" though.
no the system is not problematic. its a compressor, and the two air shocks. very simple system.
