I own a 2002 Infiniti I35 with 112,000 miles. I am posting in this I30 forum as I could not locate a I35 forum.

Three weeks ago I took my car to Gordons Automotive on Burnet Road in Austin, Texas. The front was vibrating when I braked hard while driving on the highway. They replaced the rotors and brakes on the front. They also told me that I would eventually need new struts and motor mounts as the struts had a tiny leak. When I picked up the car I noticed immediately that the comfort of the ride had changed drastically. When I go over even small indentions in the road my entire dash board shakes. I actually was bounced up off the seat on a paved road while going 40 miles per hour. I took it back and requested that they check to see if they had left something out when they replaced the rotors and brakes. The mechanic told me that when he put my car on the lift, the weight of the car was lifted off the struts which caused air to get into the struts. He told me that the air would work itself out and it would eventually go back to how it was before I brought it in for service. When I asked how long it would take for the air to work itself out I was told that it could be a few days or up to three weeks. It has now been three weeks and the rough ride has not improved at all. I talked on the phone to two other mechanics with twenty plus years of experience and they both told me they had never heard of air getting in struts.
Can anyone give me advice? I guess it is obvious that I am clueless when it comes to how a car works. Thanks so much. Patricia
