Hello all!
Hoping to get some help. The reason I'm here is to ask a question, because the dealership I go to, just DON'T return calls! I guess they don't need the business!
I have a 2014 QX80 and recently the back end of my SUV seemed lower than usual. So I started to keep an eye out as to what was going on. When I start my vehicle, I can hear the air compressor start, normally I never heard it before, it would pump up my air leveling suspension and be normal again. Once I shut off the vehicle, it would take about 3/4 hours for it to go back down, about 1 inch from the tire. We got underneath and sprayed water with soap to see any bubbles - not a chance. The leak is too slow, thinking a valve may be stuck.

Parts to consider:
Relay
Leveling Sensor
Air Compressor - Thinking it's this one.
Lines
Air Bags

It does sound like the typical C1803, exhaust valve solenoid DTC. Unfortunately, replacing the compressor is the only fix for this DTC.

You’ll need a full range scan tool or a shop that utilizes one in order to diagnose what’s causing the issue. It’s also needed to reset the rear air leveling suspension system for the correct ride height when a new compressor or ride height sensor is installed.

If we replace the compressor ourselves , does the air leveling suspension reset itself or where do we find it to reset it?

Aww. the scan tool!!!!

On my Autel scan tool, there is a relearn procedure under the “E-SUSP” prompt. It’s exactly the same procedure on the service manual that Infiniti/Nissan uses with their Consult diagnostic tool.
If not the dealership, maybe an independent shop should be able to do it too. But make sure that shop also has access to the OE service manual because there are several steps in resetting and then relearning the proper ride height.

Thank you so much for your time!

One more question, do you have any reason to believe that the shocks would have to be replaced as well?

These air leveling shocks are very durable. The only weakness I see is where the air lines connect to the air shock. The o-rings can wear out and air could leak out from there; same with the air lines connecting to the compressor. But those are easy to check by just spraying a solution of soap water and visually inspecting it.

I already did the solution of soap with no air bubbles present. Thank you for answering my question.

Can someone please forward a link to the
“e-susp” prompt fix in the manual.
