Have any of you guys installed any add ons or upgrades to your qx? Such as cold air intake or exhaust or a programmer? Would love to get your thoughts on the investment and the return. Gains in Hp and/or mpg?

Thanks!!

Thanks uwhusky!! I saw a guy on fresh alloy that had a cold air intake system that had a clear lid with the Infiniti logo that looked sweet. I'm certainly looking for any add on that will make this ride more efficient on gas and if it adds Hp that's a bonus!

well you will need to get an aftermarket exhaust, air filter, a programmer (super chips, bully dog) and drive conservatively to get any worthwhile gains in MPG.

keep in mind, the stock system is the best CAI in my opinion. its just the stock paper filter element that needs changing. the tube is plenty large to get good air in, you just need a better aftermarket filter. using aluminum CAIs will just heat up the air inside and ruin any CAI benefits. just keep the stock piping and pop in a good aftermarket filter. amsoil and K and N are two good ones...

I added a K&N air filter (not a big deal) but might give a very slight increase in HP.

I just purchased the same, Infiniti throw-away filter was $45, the KN re-usable is $53, kind of a no-brainer if even just for the $$ savings..

I like the chrome rear view mirror add ons. Anyone have those installed?

That's good info to know. I'll be getting one very soon. Thanks for sharing.

Clarifying question. Are you talking about the door mirrors or the mirror on the windshield?

If you don't mind me asking where did you purchase your filter? I have called all of the local parts stores in my area and it's a special order item for them and the prices have been ~$75.

Thanks in advance...

Ended up just purchasing right from K&N's web site. It should get here on Tuesday.

K&N filter worked perfectly, cannot say it gives any performance gain but it's normally so minor you can not tell. Either way it's a better filter than a paper one for a few dollars more this time to save it later..
