We have a 2012 qx56 with the oem crossbars. Sadly, it says max 100lbs, which is practically useless. We have managed to use our Tule on them and it fits just fine, but probably due to weight, the Tule bounces like crazy over 60mph. The crossbars have a lot of flex in them.

Is there an aftermarket crossbar people have used on this car? Who makes a big suv that can only carry 100lbs on top. No way my family of 5 can go on a long trip without stuff on top.

That is a very low weight limit.

You may want to check with Sewell Parts to see if they have any aftermarket options.

I have the 2011 and said the same thing when I got the crossbars. My Thule is pretty useless considering it probably weighs at least 30 pounds. Love the car but how in the hell could they do that with a full size SUV???

I thought it was just the cross bars not the main support bars? Most Yakima/Thule has aftermarket bars that can re-use the factor rails.

Any updates to this thread? New member here that just traded in the '06 QX for a fully loaded '12. When I went to install mounts for my kayak, it appears that there is no adjustments for the crossbars; am I wrong? I really need to spread them out more (from front to back) in order to get weight distribution right. Any help/advice would be appreciated...
