Just bought our 2012 and this dealer doesn't offer the 3M film for the car. Has anyone put this stuff on? Any thoughts on whether it's a good product? Dealer is installing the hood bug shield or something as an alternative. Does that really protect the hood much?

Thanks!

I had the front done on mine with the exception of the hood front as I didn't like how the line would fall on the truck with the film and also had the mirrors done. Very pleased thus far, the key here is the installer, check with a web search as well as some of your high end car dealers in the area to see who they use. If you go to the 3M website they will list their authorized dealers and installers. A good key to look for is what type of other cars they have in the process.

I think it was around 500, I'm traveling this week but I can check the invoice when I get home over the weekend.

I am getting the bumper, headlights, side mirrors, 24 inches on the hood and down to the fenders and fender flares for $800 total.
so not getting full fender and fender flares but he will go 24 inches into the hood and come down to the fender and flares.

Is that a good deal?

anyone know a good installer in the Northern Virginia area?

Ok, found my papers on mine and it was 535 for the front of the truck and the mirrors. I opted not to do the hood and the wheel flares as I did not like how the line was going to fall on the hood. I have a white truck so eventually it would end up with a dirt line running across it and as for flares just did not see the need and here too you will end up with dirt lines on the inside. Good luck in your search, again its all about the installer and how many edges he can tuck and roll. Anywhere you have an exposed edge, you will at some point have the outline of the film showing.

3M is good

Hey Oakton, yeah I don't know anyone in NOVA that does a good job. I have had to go to Charlotte NC for mine. Ours is on black and Autoshield Carolina does a excellent job.
I bought our first 3m on our 2006 Lexus IS350, we had it installed on our CTD Dodge ram, and our 2011 QX
They are good.
Have a good one,
Parrott

Ugh, i was hoping for someone here in NoVa. But I've looked thru Yelp, etc. and can't find anyone with great reviews. You'd think someone would have a business out of this.

Auto Armour in Columbia MD, his name is Cliff (Best in DMV) He does ALOT of cars, many high end..He is also very reasonable price..think he quoted me something below $600 for entire front end...couldnt get it done due to some issues but alot of people recommended him..Cliff@Auto Armour
