No to be honest I have never considered a Navigator until last summer. This is our fourth 56/80 having a 12, 15, 18 and 21. The front seat height change in 20 or 21 has absolutely ruined this suv for my wife and I. Just a miserable driving experience as well as riding for the front passenger. Since we bought the last one during covid there was little to no test driving. I made the mistake of assuming there were no major changes to a vehicle we were infinitely familiar with. We basically traded to get CarPlay and I have regretted it ever day since.
When a bronco is more comfortable than a full size suv there is a huge issue. Still hard for me to believe they screwed it up so bad.
It wasn't until we actually test drove a Navigator last summer that I realized the interior was so nice and plush, tons of room just like my SD pickup. It was an eye opening experience for sure. That trip was initially to test drive a Bronco Raptor and they happened to have a Navigator on the lot as well.
I know the Navigators have been prone to issues over the years but we could say the same thing about the 56/80 and to date I never experienced any major or catastrophic issues with any of the ones we have owned so there is that.

New to this group. 2025s are on the lot in Nashville. Having owned 3 prior Infinitis, any thoughts on the full sticker + $10,000.00 pricing? I understand no haggle pricing on new models but I was simply caught off guard by this. Does the manufacturer down the street from the dealer condone this or just turn a blind eye? Appreciate any feedback.

Is that the dealer at cool springs? We will be in Nashville Labor Day weekend so maybe we can check it out. We’ve bought four of these to date and I’ve never had window sticker price mentioned. Much less $10k plus. If that is the new sales plan that will speed up the process to move away.
We are on the contact list for Memphis. Nothing yet.

Yes, Cool Springs. Song and dance about inflated resale value when vehicle leaves the lot. Pretty discouraged at this stage. Probably just wait until the hoopla over the new model dies down.

It’s ironic I got an email this am from Infiniti of Memphis inquiring about my recently enhanced trade in value for our 21 80.
I can tell you that previously Infiniti has been far and away easier to deal with on trading buying new. They’ve always been fair to us back to 12. That may have changed in this new crazy prices market.
My point is I wouldn’t be too discouraged. See what they will negotiate at.
 
I finally saw a 2025 Infiniti QX80 on the road this weekend. Wow... They have major road presence. In my opinion, way more than a Cadillac Escalade. I haven't seen the newest Lincoln Navigator yet - but I doubt I'm going to find it more impressive than the QX80...
 
We test drove a 25 80 sensory model Friday. To say Infiniti has completely redesigned the 80 is a major understatement. They fixed the egregious front seating gaff from 20-21 so we once again fit comfortably in the front seats.
If we go back with Infiniti it will be an Autograph trim level. Infiniti continues to muck up the exterior of the lower trim levels with bling it doesn’t need in the wrong places. The brushed trim and wheels of the autograph is well done. The v6 in sport mode has lots of pep. The hud is nice.
The dealer didn’t have an autograph in our color in stock so they are trying to find us one. However they did take a trade on a really cool 23 bronco raptor I’ve asked for more info on. Someone traded it and a Kia van in on 25 80 autograph last week.
Gen mgr told us all they have sold are autographs so far. Makes sense when you see them side by side. There are four trim levels and I doubt anyone is going to actually buy the pure model. Doubtful on the Luxe either.
All in we were super impressed with the redesign. Still looking hard at navigators though. They hosed up the fender badge stretching it into the door. Who signs off on these design ideas? 🤦🏻‍♂️
 
i saw the lincoln navigator last weekend. the new qx is the overall winner in my opinion. the auto step thingy that presents itself when you open the door is cute, but not enough.

The running board? Man I love those. Had them on my pickups since 2018. Super functional. Protects the lower trim when traveling and provides an always clean step when getting in and out of the ride. Also bc it retracts it allows for a much lower initial step for entry than the static step on the 80.
Agree the 80 wins the eye test inside and out though. Not even close. That split console on the navigator looks out of place. The iPad screens hanging off the backs of the front seats are not only an eye sore but just waiting for a kids backpack or jacket to hang on it and be destroyed.
The front seats are cavernous though just like my pickup. So comfy to ride in.
 
yes the running board! lo I had a brain fart when i was typing the post ! :p i agree with yor assessment/practicality of the running boards as well!

the qx finally caught up to what americans want in these over the top suv's. it took the japanese a long time to finally realize that. ive always loved the nissan/infiniti qx suv but the outdated audio/video was a pain point. the nanny features , back in 2012, were really ahead of the class. now, the look of the top of the line qx is really beautiful. the navigator is just gaudy and doesn't have that subtle finesse the qx has. i may sound biased about the qx but it really is a lovely beast.

Exactly my feelings! I figured it might be Lexus - but nope. Infiniti did it. And what a job they've done. I do realize that Cadillac's Escalade is due for a big update - but the way I see it - they now have a hill to climb.
 
Can one of you guys help me understand the transfer case change on the 25 80? I have read a few mentions of it but no real clear answers as to what it was previously vs what it is now. Open differential maybe? I should know but I don't and I want to learn. Thanks in advance.

I turned in my 2021 QX80 Luxe for a brand new 2025 Luxe. Big mistake. The ride on the new vehicle with air suspension is terrible . The vehicle bounces up and down on city streets and has a very rough ride. On the highway it is a little better as it lowers down to a more aerodynamic stance. Electronics are very confusing to use, not at all user friendly. I even test drove a Pure model with the coil suspension. Still a bouncy ride. After two weeks with the Luxe I took a hit and bought my old Luxe back from the dealership. If you are thinking of buying a 2025 and have owned prior year models you might be in for a rude awakening. Test drive it as much as possible before buying!

does the 25 model not have hbmc anymore? i LOVED how hbmc worked on the qx!!

It doesn’t. Well sort of a mashup of that and air suspension and customized tuning on the dash. You know how Infiniti likes to combine tech on these SUV’s.
I know @Flyboy wasn’t pleased with the ride. Our 21 is a sensory and we test drove a 25 sensory. The test drive was in Memphis and the streets are horrid there. I didn’t notice much difference to be honest in how it handled/rode. To be fair I didn’t tinker with the different drive heights though so that may have played a factor. Definitely something to consider when we test drive one again.

Hey all. New member here. I have a 2025 on order due in December.

A quick comment on the running boards. I think the competition have figured these out now, but I have friends with NAvigator and Escalades where they are stuck in the dropped position. Admittedly I'm in a snowy state with lots of salt in the winter. So the static running boards are a plus in my case (and the sensory and autograph can be set to automatically lower when in park).

What I cannot find any info on is the front license plate location. There appears to be a spot for the plate above where this image shows the plate on the front. I have seen this same thing and person and it annoys me more than it should. I'll probably ask the dealer to leave the front plate off to see if I can figure a way to mount it where it looks like it should go. Am I overthinking this?
