Greeting!

New to the forum and have a question regarding my 2012 QX 56, 31000km.

When drive it uphill (auto) and accelerate to 4-5k rpm, the engine still runs but have a big stall, feels like fuel stall. Let go of the gas pedal and re-accelerate to about 3k rpm, no problem at all.

Still have warranty covered and will definitely take it back to dealer and repair it. Just want to know has anyone run into this problem before...

Thanks,

Robin

how long have you had the car? did you purchase it new?

what kind of petrol do you use? octane and brand.

can you recreate this every time or is it random? and does it only happen when going up hills?

what if you floor it from a dead stop on level ground? same thing happen or no?

if you are able, stop by a parts shop (Autozone, etc) and ask them to check for any DTCs at the obd port.

could be petrol pump, bad petrol, (Rare) IPDM, pedal sensor could be acting up... any number of things...

How do u get it upto 4k-5k RPMs?? !! Are you trying to "spin out" / "burn rubber"??

Purchased 3 months ago, 2012, Canadian vehicle, 4WD, 36000KM, fuel pressure sensor has been replaced/repaired by dealer before purchased it. most of time city driving.

#91, ESSO, Shell, Costco. Not sure what kind of petrol previous owner used...

I can't. Tried it this afternoon, 5K RPM, worked fine. It happened when going up a long hill on highway from BC to AB.

Doesn't happen...

Still have valid warranty, will have local dealer to check it.

Take it back and have them inspect the work...sounds like you might have a high pressure fuel pump starting to fail...

It's easy to get it above 4-5k...press the gas pedal and hold on...lol
