Happy new year everybody. I have a problem with the passenger side headlight not returning to center. I gets stuck to the right. Apparently I have the model with the automatic control, so I cannot make adjustments. There are no control buttons on the lower left panel. Does anyone know of a way to reset or readjust the headlight so it is at least pointing straight, and then turn the adaptive feature off? My manual does not seem to have that info. Thanks for any help, TB

Unfortunately, the AFS equipped headlights cannot be adjusted manually. The swivel actuator is also inside the headlight assembly and can't be removed. A full range scan tool will read any related DTCs to the AFS headlight system. I hate to say it but this will be an expensive repair because it'll either be the headlight assembly or the AFS control unit that has to be replaced. A dealership is your best option to diagnose whether which part(s) has to be replaced unless you know of a reputable shop that utilizes a full range scan tool and access to the OE service manual.

Thanks primov8. Not great news. Should I assume that you cannot replace the AFS headlight assembly with a non AFS one? TB

The AFS control unit is bolted onto the cover/panel under the glove box. I'm sure there is a BCM related DTC already stored due to the issue already mentioned, so maybe this worth a try. I’d unplug the pigtail from the AFS control unit and start the truck. Shut off the truck, then plug the pigtail back to see if it resets the swivel actuator.

I don't see anything wrong with replacing the headlamp with a non-AFS counterpart. The BCM will likely store a DTC due to the non-AFS headlight but it won't affect output and drivability.

Hey guys, I have some pictures that might be helpful to others. I need to know how to attach them. In the past on one of my tractor forums, I would use photobucket and copy the link so you could see the pics. I think now that is no longer a free service. what would you suggest I use now to post pictures? Thanks! TB

you can use google photos, imgur, or any other media storage online. then copy the URL and paste it here.

you can also use "attach files" button at the bottom of your post.
