I took my QX to the dealer as the CEL had come on and all of the sudden it wouldn't drive over about 30 mph. They are saying that the ECM and Wiring Harness are shorted out and need replacing to the tune of $6k. Has anyone heard or experienced anything like this or know what would could have caused the entire electrical system to short out?
A little background on the car:
2011 QX56 bought used from a dealer with about 65k miles, non CPO, bought the extended warranty. Had the timing chain replaced under the recall, then around 86k the had to have the CAT replaced luckily it was covered by the extended warranty. About a month after getting the CAT replaced I am now running into this issue, could the two be related or could the dealer have done something wrong that would have caused the short?
