2010 QX56 rear liftgate issue

The rear lift gate on my 2010 QX56 acts up when I go through a car wash. When I hit the button on the handle it will release but does not go up and I can hear some tiny beeps. I have to manually lift it up when this happens. I think moisture is getting in through the handle. It will work fine after the moisture dries out. The door will open and lift up automatically with no problems, so I had it checked at the dealership and they said it needs a new wiring harness due to corrosion and quoted me around $750.

Any idea what the part number is so I can check online and do it myself. Also is there a way to seal where moisture is getting through?

Go to an Infiniti parts online seller (Infiniti parts dot com, search for that). They have exploded views of the schematics. You can also get the service manual online and find the data that way.

Or with your vin handy, call a parts shop at any Infiniti dealer and they will tell you that part number over the phone.

Thank you.. I picked up the vehicle yesterday and they told me since they were diagnosing the liftgate issue they went ahead and cleaned the corrosion on the wiring harness and put a good amount of dielectric grease to keep it protected from moisture and should be good for a while. Keeping my fingers crosses and it will last forever.
