Hi all.

Just bought a 2010 QX56 and I love it.

It did have an issue though with the Rear DVD Player which is located in the console between the driver and passenger seat.

Every time I put a DVD in it spits it back out. I am pretty handy so I was going to remove the unit and try to repair it.

Few Questions:

1) Is there any instructions on how to remove the DVD player online?
2) Has anyone else had this problem and could tell me what the problem with it is so I can attack it once removed?
3) Wondering if anyone has replaced this factory unit with an aftermarket one and if so was it easy to wire up with the factory cables?

Thanks and hope to post some more questions and try to help others as I get to know my new truck.

1. get the service manual for the 2010 armada or the qx. its free and readily avail on the internet.

2. othere have had issues with the player not playing discs, discs getting stuck, player not working, etc. its difficult to track these issues over the internet as each situation is different.
3. yes many have used aftermarket systems. Myron & Davis are widely used. if you dont get hits from the qx, search the 2010 (back to 2008) armada as they are the same in regards to this.

however you say it "DID" have an issue? so does that mean the issue is corrected?

couple of follow up comments:

if you purchased this just recently, is it still under some kind of seller warranty? if so, have them look at it.

does this happen on EVERY single disc you insert?

most likely the player is faulty and beyond worth of repair. you can get a used one from salvage, fleabay, craigslist or get a new one from the dealer.

aftermarket units dont wire up easily to the factory harness. there's an av unit in the car that interfaces with the entire wiring harness.

first steps: get the service manual and read up on the AV section to see the wiring diagram. then if you are handy, you can easily swap out the factory unit with another one.

otherwise, go all aftermarket and look to Myron & Davis.

Hey bro mine is the same year and same problem did you fix yours yet

op has not been back online in over a year.

these units are not worth the time to try and repair. you can get another one on flebay for a decent price (or even a salvage yard).
