New to the forum but glad I found it.

I have an ‘06 QX56 that needs a new brake booster. The part I need, I believe, is 47210-ZC01C. I paid for the part 3+ months ago at the Infiniti dealership and they told me it was on back order. But they had no idea when (or if) it would be coming in.

I checked a number of Infinity parts sites online, and while several said they had the part in stock, none of them do. And for the few that I was able to talk to, they all said the same thing - backordered, could be a long time if they even get them in stock again.

I went down the after market part path, but it seems those parts are too unreliable as two of the places I called said they wouldn’t install them due to not knowing how long, or if, they’ll work.

My wife called Infiniti Corp and got the same answer regarding the OEM part. They had no insights into part availability or if they were even going to manufacture them again. They pushed us towards trying to get a loaner or rental from a local dealership, but none of the ones around us would offer one - even the dealership we bought the part from.

Has anyone run into this issue? And if so, what did you do? Does anyone have any suggestions for what we should do? We’ve been down a car for 3 months and it looks like it might be longer.

I’ll also add since it’s been 3 months, just get your money back from Infiniti. The brake booster from Nissan is remanufactured anyway so look into aftermarket options to not have to wait any longer.

Nissanpartsdeal.com or any of your local Nissan parts dept or Nissan online parts stores.
Thanks. But I don’t think I’m following you. While the online sites show they have the part in stock and available, when you reach out to them to confirm if they have the part, they actually don’t.

The problem is that I cannot find someone who will install the remanufactured part. They say that they aren’t reliable.

Have you had success with a remanufactured part? If so, which one?

I had a 04 armada years ago for almost 11 years. I didn't have to change the brake booster but I did replace the brake pressure sensors on the master cylinder at one point. I sold my 04 to a friend back in 2017 and is still driving it to this day with over 350K miles. He replaced the brake booster about 4 years ago with an aftermarket one from O'Reillys (closest auto parts store to his home). It's been good so far, no issues.

Thanks @primov8. That’s what I was looking for. Just trying to get a feel for how successful I can be with an aftermarket part and which brand might be the best.
