Just bought the qx56 and the navigation is not working .the screen and radio works and so does the back up camera but the back up camera seems dark. Someone mentioned that there might be a fuse that went back. Anything else that could be looked at. Someone else mentioned that the unit is under the front seat

backup camera: if you see the directional lines on the screen then the camera may be dead, or could be some issues with the wiring. sometimes water can get into it back there and can cause issues. if you dont see anything (no video image or the directional lines) then it could be the CCU module is dead. this is located in the back rear (driver side) of the car. youd have to remove some plastic pieces to get to it.

as for the navi-- that model year i believe the dvd is under the seat and it needs a disk. over time the drive can become damaged for whatever reason. also the lens could be dirty, thus not allowing the lens to read the disk, so it may need a cleaning.

you didnt go into any detail on the navi--was it working when you bought it? do you have a navi disk inserted into the drive?

nav wasn't working when I bought it
as far as back up camera I see the 2 directional lines but the screen is very dark

camera is faulty. replacement is needed. you can find them on ebay or salvage yard. you may be able to find a , say maxima or altima backup camera that MAY work, but do your research.

if there is no disk in the nav disk drive, you wont get any navigation. verify the disk is working and that its an actual compatible nav disk.

if you don't have a nav disk and you want to test the drive, you may be able to find an old nav disk image online you can download and burn to a disk to test.
