2005 Rear camera

Hello,

It appears my camera is going out...I get either blank screen or 'static' in the screen.

Any advice would be welcome. I'm heading to local Car Toys to ad a sub, so will have them look too....but the more info, the better.

if you have the color overlay lines but no image, the CCU at the trunk is damaged and/or the camera control module is defective.

if you dont get ANYTHING but blank/static, the camera control module is defective.

both parts are not worth attempting a fix. look in fleabay or other used parts sources for these items or go aftermarket with something at your local toy shop.

just trying to help.

this system is the same in the armada and i have had 2 armadas. i never had any issues with the system but i was very familiar with the components of the system--that and seeing what the majority of people have posted on another forum over the several years...

also check the same year but in armada. its possible (i cant be certain) the parts are identical--again i am not certain but with a shot to cross reference.

try a local salvage yard as well.

Do you recommend a manual to use? I have the owners manual but no information specifically about the back up camera. I assume I need a shop manual...no worries, will pick one up as I need to repair the camera. I'm also assuming the unit is in the tailgate....

shop manual is going to be what you need in this case. easily found on the internet. try to find the same year as sometimes the wiring harness colors can be different in model years, and this is critical in finding the right wire, etc...
