My wife has has two past issues where our 2005 qx56 reads a quarter tank of fuel and ran out of gas on a busy freeway. I did a reach for recalls under my make and year and it detailed a recall with the exact same symptoms that I am experiencing. The fuel gauge will stop registering fuel level once it hits a quarter of a tank on the quage . I presently have my infinity at white plains NY Pepe infinity service dept. The recall shows 340,000 vehicles affected but my particular Vin is no it specifically listed even though it is the same year and model, I have just contacted infinity consumer number and let them know my concern for my wife and children's safety concerning this defect, they simply response was even though my symptoms are identical if my Vin does not come up its no it covered.....wow deja vu reminds me of another corporation that neglected consumers in the same manner....I love my infinity and always expected top service and reasonable conclusion to safety issues...I am so disappointed with infinity being such a presitgeous high end manufacturer. I have been very courteous on the phone, and had hoped for a better more reasonable outcome,
Does anyone have any insite of what direction I should take this I would assume infinity consumer help line would have helped me. What are my options? I try to keep fuel topped up once it comes close to 1/4 tank but am concerned that my wife on occasion may forget, that is her primary vehicle with the children. It seemed that the infinity dealership or info it consumer relation do not put safety as a priority, that I find unconscionable and disturbing in light of what has been going on with general motors....
