Guys,
Parents car (01 infiniti i30) will start but die, if i hold throttle open it will start and stay running (as long as i hold throttle open a bit) if i drop throttle the car dies...other then that it will run...
I found this extremely similar to a scenario i had with a car and a new intake, where the hose had cracked and the small leak kept the car from idling but would run if enough throttle was used it would stay alive.
I tried blipping the throttle and swear i heard a leak or a hiss coming from the rear of the engine (near firewall) but this may have been the injectors i was hearing
either or they got it to the shop and now mechanic has just changed and told them its the ECU. Im fairly certain ECU's dont just go like that long story short has anyone had a similar problem or maybe their ECU has gone?
