Hi All,

I'm new to the board. Pround owner of a 1997 I30 with 160K miles.

Last week, I can't get it to start. I changed the battery and have the alternator check, as well as the coils and everything seem fine. I turned the key to the ignition position and nothing happens. Last week it took fifteen minutes to get it started. I would turn the key and it would be silent, and would try and try again till it just starts. Have anyone experience the same problem?? Looking forward to your reply, thanks again for reading.

If the engine will turn over but not start, then you may have a bad EFI relay, which should be located under the dash in the form of a large black plastic relay. If you turn the key and the engine does not turn over, you may have a bad neutral safety switch. If this is the case, you can put your transmission in Neutral instead of Park to test this. Hope that helps. If that's the case, you can get the switch replaced.
