My beautiful and new-to-me 2000 I30t has a very harsh ride. I know the "t" model has a stiffer suspension than the regular I30, and has 17" rims and shorter, stiffer sidewalls than the regular I30 has with its 16" rims.
The tires it has on it are a local dealer's (Les Schwab) special brand, and they are noisy and harsh riding. I am looking for something quiet and that won't go "whack" over freeway expansion joints.
I am sticking to the stock size of 225/50/17. The car will not be driven in snow, but will see lots of rain.
Does anyone have any specific recommendations of tires they have actually used?
I have read all the helpful reviews and tests on TireRack, so don't send me there! I'm looking for personal experience.
