1 day old, and already have a question. Is there a way to use the Navigation while in motion. Yes, I understand the SAFETY issue, but what about having a passenger using the system? I've read some of the threads for 2005 to 2008 QX & Armada. Any info on the 2011 or 2012 QX? Same question for viewing the DVD on the front screen while in motion. Other than that... "Love the BEAST". Lots of bells & whistles. Excellent ride. Swapped the 22" tires for the 20". $2,300 cheaper and I'm Old School... and just can't help thinking the additional rubber gives a smoother ride. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "Prestige Society Module" accomplishes this for around $300. There is a thread on it. It gives you a button that fools the system into thinking the brake is on. Only downside, (minor) is that when engaged, the GPS location does not work. GPS screen remains frozen, as if brake was on! Once you press button again, system and guidance return to normal.

I've used it quite often, and it works great.

While driving, we need to enter an address for a destination. I press the button, my wife enters the data, selects "start" guidance, and then I press it again to disengage. Route is up and running.

You can also hit the button to run movies on front screen while driving. In this case, the frozen Maps screen is irrelevant, cause you are watching a movie.

How did you "swap the tires"? Did you just chose a unit without them, or did you convince them to let you downgrade a car with them and give you a discount?

20" vs. 22" wheel package

The 2012 with "Deluxe Touring" package comes standard with 20" tires. The dealership had actually ordered this vehicle with the 22" wheel package, which adds $2300 to the price. I had them swap with another new vehicle, with 20" tires, on their lot and deduct the $2300. I wasn't as concerned about the money, as I was about the ride. I couldn't find any good info on the pros & cons of the 20" vs. the 22". I'm "Old School" and just felt I would get a better ride with the 20"

When I asked about doing the same thing, I was told that it would change the sticker of whatever the car they swapped with, so they wouldn't do it. Maybe at another dealer. (BTW, if you configure online, you can't configure without the 22" on the deluxe touring).

Does this module enable the use of the around view cameras while the vehicle in motion?

And has anyone had problems with the front screen syncing video with the back screens with this module while the vehilce is in motion?

Thanks!

The 22" were "required" with the deluxe touring package on the 2011 QX56

On the 2012, it's an "option" This dealer just "ordered" it with 22"

This dealer had no problem "swapping" and adding the $2300 to a different vehicle

Good Luck
