I need some help. We like to go skiing and was wondering how the QX 2WD handles in the snow. I'm in Southern California and I can't justify paying extra for a 4WD since we'll only need it maybe twice a year. Any thoughts?

We just pulled the trigger on a 2WD. I wanted the 4WD but the wife didn't like the interior color (graphite) and seat configuration (center console in second) of the 4WD. There aren't too many of these vehicles to choose from, so I went with her decision. It's going to be her car so as long as she's happy, I'm okay. Besides, we already have a 4x4 SUV.
The '11 QX is probably the best luxury SUV out there, period! We've owned MB vehicles in the past (ML, R, and GL) and this is by far superior to all of them. Let's hope that it will be trouble free

I hear you. I wanted to get the 4WD too buy my wife liked the 2WD configuration better. I was considering an Escalade or the Benz GL but I'm happy with my QX56!

We just took our first road trip in the QX and it did great! I love the seat comfort of the QX and the ride was very good. We averaged over 19MPG on our 1500 mile journey. I can honestly say that it was much more enjoyable and comfortable to drive than the MB GL.
We'll see how this 2WD handles in the snow this winter
. The only time we drive in snow is when we go skiing, so going with the 2WD wasn't necessarily a bad thing. You gotta keep the momma happy, I guess!
Congratulations on your purchase! I bet you are going to be happy with it. I used to work at a ski area and drove to work every winter day for 3 years in a 2wd suburban. I only chained up twice. Newer vehicles do so much better than the older vehicles did I am sure you won't have a problem.
