Just installed the Prestige Society module to allow full control of all navigation/DVD features when vehicle is in motion. Very easy to install. Took about an hour because I was being very careful and wasn't familiar with the process. The dealer Mark was very easy to reach and very heplful. Works great. The car should have come with it except for liability issues.

Can you supply more info on this? Where did you get it, how much, will I need a dealer or technical person for the install?

You didn't happen to take pictures to do a nice D.I.Y thread, did you? ;)

I plan to purchase the same module...would you recommend doing it yourself or just having an installer do it? Was there some online guides to taking apart the dash if needed or did the module come with good installation instructions?

Thanks.

I just ordered the module, will try the install myself. Where did you guys mount the remote?

The module came with very good directions with pictures.

The dealer seemed unwilling to make the instructions public so I will respect that.

If you are the least bit handy and you can overcome the fear of removing
the center portion of the dash and the console (by gear selector) it it not hard at all. Infinity used quatity clips etc, no problem getting the panels out or back in.

I mounted the switch under the driver side dash out of sight. You don't need
to see the button illuminated.

If you do the install yourself, I can add a couple of pointers

Good luck with your install.

The module comes with great instructions and pictures for each step.

If you have any questions during the install, Mark at Prestigious Society is very responsive by e-mail and by phone.

Thanks for the help. I just ordered the module, and hope to install myself.

Are you operating it in auto mode or manual mode? I'm looking for feedback on how the manual mode works. Do you ever need to press the Navi button again in manual mode?

The directions are a bit unclear on this point.

In order to activate the unit, you must press the nav button, illuminating the red light, every time you start the car.

Automode turns off the unit after 5 minutes

Manual mode leaves the unit on until the car is shut off.

Leaving the unit on fools the car thinking that the emergency brake is on and that the car is not moving via the GPS. Therefore when the unit is on the Navigation System shows that the car isn't moving. So you have to turn the system off to use the Map or the Nav. You can turn the unit off and on when you need to imput "restricted" information

I had to pay $75 to have it installed at local electronics store, but it works great. Thanks for the idea!

I finally got around to installing mine last week. Instructions were good, but some of the black and white pictures made it a little tougher to see some details...but manageable.

Probably took me a total of a little over an hour (broke it down to 2 evenings since I don't have too much free time with 3 young kids).
Taking apart the console and part of the dash was fairly easy, the thing that was a pain for me was disconnecting all the connectors. Some were easy to pull out, a few were difficult (and there were no specific tips on removing them included...just "disconnect all connectors". I was still unable to remove the connector from the back of the 12v power socket, but luckily there was enough slack that I worked around it when removing the A/V unit.

The module so far works as advertised, but now I'm not sure if I'm imagining or hearing a little creaking/rattling coming from behind the dash every now and then when driving. I know I was extra anal and careful taking things apart and putting everything back, but I'm dreading the possibility of needing to take apart the dash again to isolate the source of the noise.

Does this module enable the use of the around view cameras while the vehicle in motion?

And has anyone had problems with the front screen syncing video with the back screens with this module while the vehilce is in motion?

Thanks!

Wondering if the module switch can be installed in one of the non-used button slots on the lower dash panel. Would it clip into place? Having it just hang underneath the dash seems a bit un-finished for such a fine vehicle.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can find someone to buy and install this for me. I live in the Western berbs of Chicago.

On their website they show a dealer in Arlington Heights.

You can call or e-mail them to get more info.

The switch that comes with the module is an oval shape and doesn't fit neatly in place of the unused buttons. You could probably get an audio/video electronics person to wire it to a standard switch.

A bit of a drive, but Project Two Customs up in Waukesha, WI does great work and is a dealer. They are doing my 2012 QX56 next week with this as they just ordered the module today...

Thanks for the info. I have ordered mine and will have it installed in a few weeks. Another question. Will this void any warranties with the car. I could see the dealer not standing behind the warranty if I modify anything? Any thoughts?
