Not a huge problem, but I've noticed on my QX that when I use the wiper fluid I get an awful lot of splatter along my driver and passenger side windows from the wiper blade action pushing the water to the sides.

The fluid then dries up and leave marks on my side windows.

Other cars I've owned (i.e. Lexus Ls460) have channels on the sides of the windshield to prevent this.

Does anyone know if an aftermarket product exists that can be added to the sides of the windshield to prevent this splatter?

If you drive faster, the fluid will make it to the rear seat passenger windows before drying!

Seriously...not much insight from me on this one. I've noticed it too, but I can't say it's any worse than most other vehicles I've owned. Maybe dropping the driver's window and putting it back up after washing the front might help?

Thanks for the tips -- I've tried the "dropping the window and raising it" bit but it just smears things out. I try to only splash the windshield a little bit and when at highway speeds to get it to dry off fast but those side windows still get splattered.

Not a big deal, really, just used to driving a car for years that had those channels at the end of the windshield to prevent the splatter.

life is full of compromises...

would you believe ive had my 2012 q since october 2011 and i have not yet used the windshield washer fluid? ive also not yet used the back wiper nor the washer fluid back there.

the last time i activated my front wipers was last year...

It is partially due to the upright windshield on the QX and the fact that the water pools to the side of the windshield.

If that annoys you wait until you walk outside and realize that the headlight washers have just sprayed wiper fluid all up side the front bumper and hood edge. lol

which is why i dont want to use the wiper fluid. i would like to see the headlamp washer pop up as I have never seen it but i dont want it to splash over the car. :D
