Hi everyone, could someone please help me decide what to offer for a 2008 qx56, 2wd, 49,500k? The sales manager told us last night that the asking price of $36,891 is non-negotiable because it is a CPO and Infiniti will not allow CPO prices to be negotiated. Is this true? The salesperson has told us that she wants to close before noon today in order to get the sale in for a March 31 "month" end (I know that this is actually the date of Nissan's fiscal year end), so that should give us a little leverage I would think. Any advice? Thanks so much!

I just purchased a 2008 4WD with DVD/NAV, and second row buckets, with new tires, from a dealer for $33,000. 53,000 miles, silver with black interior. Don't know where you live but up here (WI), you can't give 2WD SUVs away. Considering the 13-14 MPG, WITH GAS AT $4/gal, you should be in the drivers seat to negotiate.

As far as being certified, dealers usually charge $2-3K for the extra warranty. I elected to go the Compass route and picked up a $0, bumper to bumper, 3yr/100,000 mile warranty for $1800, which I negotiated at the time of purchase.

Look at NADA to see what the 2WD version is worth in your area. I purchased my ride for less than "rough trade in" value.

Good luck and don't forget, use common sense to buy the vehicle, not emotion. There are lots out there to choose from....

if she's desperate for the sale... then hold out. with $4+ /gal gas, these trucks will bankrupt you quickly. look at Kelly Blue Book (KBB.com) put in the details and look at "rough trade in" value, just like NickP said above... that is the most you should offer.. PERIOD!!!
