Snow tires

I have a 2006 m35 sport. Bought the car in Arizona but have since moved to New Hampshire so this is my first dealing with snow tires. 19" snow tires are ridiculously expensive so I'm wondering if anyone has gone down to 17" and what size they used. Thanks in advance

Well, I see that this is a 2012 post. Hope you've found your answers. Myself, I just recently acquired my 2006 M35. First thing I did was purchase snow tires for the rapidly approaching winter. Thing is, I went thru Les Schwab (been with them for 20 yrs), got 17in rims (big, big bucks for me) and they sized tires to fit them. Studless, very effective in the snow and ice. The profile is a bit more that the other tires and I doubt seriously that there's enough clearance for chains...Soo, a couple of grand in tires and wheels and let's hope the for the best.
