So I ended up with a no start condition that blew my battery fuse a while back. Everything about it felt like a shorted starter cause I high draw situation blowing the battery fuse, so rather than do proper testing, I threw parts at it and got a starter off of amazon. Needless to say, all back together and the same situation continues. Large voltage drop on start (9.2v-9.6v), maybe an attempt at a crank and then it stops trying. (for the record, have battery jumperred across the battery fuse as $45 a start attempt would be pretty rough) Now I have started to figure out where this short is coming from and they seem to be everywhere. I have a very high ohm ground on the starter lead (75k on the black and red wire direct to the starter all disconnected) I have have continuity to ground through the entire fuse box ranging from 30 ohms to 75k ohms all the way to 3m ohms, but it's on every circuit. Where the hell do I even start to look?

sorry to hear you are going through this.

your guess is as good as anyone over the internet. electrical gremlins can do any number of things and cause any number of problems. visual inspection of the main wire harness is key, check out the IPDM in the engine room and the fuse panel in the cabin. if you are getting a DTC/check engine lamp, that the best place to start. if you are having other issues going on, trace the wiring to those locations as well.

I unfortunately can’t pull any codes because I don’t have any 12v with the battery fuse blown, and even Jumpered, I can’t get it to start to get any tc’s to throw.
