2 Questions:

1. Can you listen to an iPod via usb in front and watch DVD movies on rear monitors at the same time?

2. Has any one used a tablet to play movies via USB to rear monitors?

I have a 2013 QX56

2 answers :D

1. yes, and to take it a step further, the rear left monitor can have a totally different input from the rear right monitor. you, in theory, can have three separate sources playing on all three screens (even the screen up front can play its own source).
2. get apple tv, usb is not going to work in this example.

2. Yes you can use a tablet to play movies. I use my iPad all the time via the USB (either the usb in the middle compartment or the USB located at the back of the center console (in front of the middle seats).

hmm justa, what year q do you have? Ive a 2012 and i dont have a usb in the back??!

do you have a 7 or 8 seater?

That's interesting because when I try to play my ipod via usb in front, it wont allow my kids to view DVD movie playing....maybe i'm just doing something wrong

the manual states video can not be sent through an ipod via the usb, so i also expect the ipad to be the same way.

From the manual, "• Image signals cannot be received from iPod®."

'Course this is taken from the 2012 manual. Infiniti COULD have changed things in later model years.

you can use Apple tv in the car ya know.. ;)

Marc or any other who knows...how does it work with apple TV? I am not the greatest apple fan but my wife is and has a slew of movies on her Ipad for the kids. I have been able to connect using the RCA connector but when we do that, the pad screen goes out and we use the headrest monitors. How do you set up the apple TV? does the screen remain on during playback in addition to the two headrest screens? the latter would be even better for me as I have 3 Bambinos and obviously one is always in the middle or far back and feeling disadvantaged compared to those in the premium outboard seats

AppleTV mirrors your ipad or ifruit device, so what you do on the screen you see at the output of Appletv.

just found a random video. I think all you need is an hdmi to rca converter and you already have AC power...

in theory you can have the ipad in little timmys hands and sarah and kevin can watch it at the headrests...
