Periodically, wife and I take driving trips and like to enjoy a cup of fresh brewed Starbucks coffee while on the road. I learned last year the QX56 power inverter isn't strong enough to power our Kuerig mini K Cup coffee maker. Due to my lack of electrical knowledge, can someone help with advice on an inexpensive portable inverter without having to install extra wires. I was thinking the one which plugs into the cigarette lighter, but when I saw the Coffee Pots' reference to 1000 Watts, figured it wouldn't be strong enough. Any thoughts or should I just stop at the closest coffee shop? If I have to wire an inverter with inline fuse, what wattage should I use? I did see this thread, but not sure if I need to increase wattage or use one at 1,000: http://infinitiforum.net/infiniti-forum/showthread.php?t=12832&highlight=Power+Inverter

My Coffee pot on the bottom label states it is:

1000 Watts
120 VAC
60 Hz
8.3 AMPS

not specific to the qx so lets open this topic up to more eyes who may not stop by the qx sub forum...

lots of options on an inverter to use, depends on how much dough you want to spend. you can get one permanently installed to our electrical system (recommended for high wattage devices as the cigar wiring lacks the potential to pass through that much current with the small wiring)
