We had a clear bra put on by the dealer. They did a horrible job and even left some razor marks on the car. NOT impresses. The clear bra has good coverage on the front bumper but the hood is horrible it only cover like 8". I am going to have them redo it when i get back in town.

On another note for those if care A LOT about there cars and plan to keep it 2+year I recommend getting a pro to put Opti Coat pro (used to be called Opti-Guard).

This is a clear coat that is applied by hand. The dealer we used came to our house and polished the car (very important step) and the applied the Opti Coat pro. Took a total of 13 hrs to do.

This product will help prevent swirls, NO MORE waxing (some wax every now and then but not needed). The car will stay looking waxed most of the time. It makes the car very easy to clean and protects again scratches.

You can read reviews of the product on goggle. For the other black car owners its a must. It will lessen the amount of swirling on the car.

You will find a product that is called Opti Coat 2.0 - this can be applied by the consumer but unless you are a perfectionist let a dealer install the thicker opti coat pro.

This is not like a wax. It is a ceramic coating that wont come off unless you sand it down.

Highly recommended. The dealer we used also coated the rims to help with break dust and used Opti-lense (head lamps) and opti glass on the windshield. price can very by dealer $475-850 depending what the going rate is in your area. Well worth it.

When we bought our QX we paid for the Exterior protection package. The dealer told us they used something like a claybar to go over the paint and then applied a really thick wax that was supposed to be good for like 5 years? I don't recall exactly. I forget what they called the product. They also put the product on the windshield so rain and dirt doesn't stick as easily to it. We got the interior/wheel and tire protection package with these as a packaged discounted purchase on delivery.
However I have noticed some swirling in the paint along the sides behind the back doors. I haven't waxed it but I have washed it a few times but only using wax safe car wash soaps.
We didn't do the bra or get any headlight treatment but I'm thinking that would have been a good idea because they always look dirty and it irritates me because you can see through them from the side as you approach the front of the car.
I'm going to ask my dealer about this product to see if they use it. They owe me a detail job so it may be a good time to add it...
