Congratulations on the purchase of your 1995 Infiniti J30! It's a great car with a well-regarded engine and it's a real classic. It's not a common car, which makes finding compatible parts a little more challenging. You're right to be looking for interchangeable parts to make it a more budget-friendly project.

The Infiniti J30 shares its chassis with the Nissan Cedric, Gloria, and Leopard from that era. However, those vehicles were not sold in the United States, so finding parts from them is not a realistic option.

When it comes to struts and springs, the Infiniti J30 is on a unique platform, and unfortunately, it does not have a widely known direct interchangeable part from a more common vehicle. The suspension components are specific to the J30 and its chassis. You will need to look for parts that are specifically made for the 1993-1997 Infiniti J30.

Here is what you should do:
- Buy from a reputable brand: Look for reputable aftermarket brands that still make struts and springs for the J30. Brands like KYB, Monroe, and Gabriel are good choices. You can find these parts on websites like RockAuto, Summit Racing, and others that sell aftermarket suspension components.

- Search for "complete strut assemblies": A good way to save money and time is to look for "complete strut assemblies" or "quick struts." These come with the strut, spring, and mount all pre-assembled, so you can simply unbolt the old one and bolt in the new one. This saves you from having to use a spring compressor, which can be dangerous and requires special tools.

- Check online forums and communities: While the J30 is rare, there are still a few dedicated online forums and Facebook groups for owners. Those communities are a great place to ask for advice on where to find the best deals on parts and get tips from people who have done this job before.

While it is true that some of the engine parts are interchangeable with the Nissan 300ZX with the same VG30DE engine, the suspension is not one of them. The J30's chassis and suspension are unique.
