One of my front struts squeeks on the right front side. The left side is fine. I went to tighten the big nut inside the engine compartment at the very top of the strut tower and the whole metal shaft going down into the shock absorber keeps turning as I try to tighten the nut. The opposing shock doesn't do any of this. Anyone have a clue how I should tighten this nut down without the whole metal shaft going deep inside the shaft turning with the nut. I tried reaching through the spring with some clamps to hold the big metal shaft while I tighten the nut using ducktape on the claws not to scratch up the shaft. But, as I turn the nut at the very top, it over powers my grip on the shaft and it starts turning. Does this shock seem broken to you or is there a way to tighten that nut without having the whole shaft turn in place? I can see there is a cone at the very top of the shaft with a bushing that is supposed to hold the top of the strut tower in place. This right side strut moves inside the cone at the top, while the other one on the left side moves very little.
