I searched but couldn't find anything here either for this specific car for this specific thing. 2000 Infiniti I30

My son and I are replacing the front passenger side wheel bearing and hub. But, we're currently delayed by a stuck axle nut. I've been spraying it with liquid wrench for days. I tried heating it with a torch.

First I tried a tire iron to lock the hub while I turned the wrench with a 2-ton floor jack. The first wrench broke. The second wrench I tried, a torque wrench, is holding under pressure but it was bending the tire iron.

Next we tired a block of wood wedged under the hub bolts to keep it from moving. The whole axle and hub assembly then started rising into the air instead of breaking the nut loose.

I even left it torqued in the jack for awhile, while spraying it with liquid wrench, hoping it would pop. We've also been hammering it it and the wrenches the whole time, btw.

Nope. Nada. Nothing. Is there some trick to getting these off?

Thanks

Nuts

There are two ways. put tire back on and lower car or use a good impact wrench. Do not forget jack stands. goodluck

Axle nut removal

The 2 easiest way to loosen is before you remove the tire or place a screwdriver in the rotor and let it rest on caliper use a 1/2 breaker bar with a 36 mm socket and brute force and your done
