bought a 93 j30 and it has an aftermarket cd player but it doesn't turn on, I put another one in but it doesn't turn on either( wasted 270$) please help
First of all, check the wiring (make sure that you did not just splice wiring from factory and that you actually have an aftermarket harness.
Next make sure that all the wires are connected correctly.
One major thing is that when the cars have a factory amp, the factory amps must be bypassed, I guess you are supposed to connect the input and output wires together but I took my previous car to Best Buy and they did it for me for like 60 bucks.
I would look at all three of those because those are the main reasons that a deck would not work.
I had my aftermarket stereo put in at a local sound shop, and as for the amps in the 93 j30, each speaker has their own amp, so you have to disconnect those if you wish to put in a choice system, and one of the amps for the front is over $800, that's why I'm putting in my own system, all I need is the amp and subs.
