does this model have only the lower ball joint? This guy that works on my car told me i need a new ball joint. I know most cars have an upper and lower, but when i looked online for prices, only the lower comes up. I just want to make sure before I buy it if there's only a lower. He got a new phone so i cant ask him. Also does it matter if its the left or right side?

Hank, as the owner of a 2000 I30 with bad ball joints/control arm bushings, I believe there is only the lower ball joint on the control arm, as this is a front wheel drive, they typically only have the lower control arm, which holds a single ball joint, and a forward and rear bushing on the body mounts of the control arm. The ball joints aren't side specific, but new control arms are. The dealership won't sell you new bushings and ball joints, only the entire new control arm. I know you can purchase new ball joints and bushings, but as you know you have to press them in yourself (or your mechanic). Hope this answers your question.
