The point is that the camera should come on automatically when you get that close to something.
In this case, Infiniti does not have it right.
Oh, I see your point. I thought the original poster believed his sensors were broken, when in fact they are working as intended.
You are correct about the camera coming on when getting too close to something. That would be good, although I'm guessing Infiniti may have believed that the sensor system being on all the time might end up being a wear and tear issue, and prone to breakdown if it was on all the time.
Actually, if they only came on and activated the camera below 5 or 10 mph, that might work.
Another sensor item I find a little annoying is that the front sensors come on and start screaming when I go into reverse leaving my garage. I fit into my garage with a foot to spare front and back.
When I go into reverse the front sensor detect my "closeness" at the front, and start howling. The vehicle knows I'm in reverse, so what possible use are forward looking sensors in this situation?
Some more user options for the system would be good. It's all software, so maybe Infiniti could add features in a later update of the system. Who knows.
