Mine runs when I start it for quite awhile and I'll hear it every once in awhile kick on if I'm filling up or loading groceries. This seems too much, think it has an air leak?

Mine doesn't run too often at all. I think only when I really have a full load in the back of cargo / passengers.
I have said this before here, my air pump is VERY LOUD when deflating. A high pitched mechanical sound...does any else experience that?

this will occur in colder climates as the air will compress in cold weather (due to moisture in the air) and when you crank it up in colder weather you will hear this. its common to armadas so its not anything to worry about. you should NOT hear this often in warmer weather for sure, and if you do in warmer weather, have it checked.
you can also adjust the self leveling bar yourself back there by the pump to alter when the system functions. its not in the owners handbook but is in the service/shop manual.
that said, ive not ever heard the pump on the car i have but i live in warmer climates so i dont expect to...
