Hi. I am new to forum. Seemed to me as if it would be a good place to get help. My dad has a 2006 M35x with very very low mileage. His problem is this: the heat will not blow down by the floor, feet, but will work okay in the other directions. Would anyone possibly know what would do this?

Do you hear any funny clicking noises? There are some little controllers called "actuators" down behind the console that manage which flaps open inside the AC unit to send air one direction or another through the vents. They have little cogs where if the teeth break off, they stop working right and cause problems like you described. I have a 2011 M37 with this issue. It can be a very costly repair but the actuators themselves are just $50 or so -- the expense is for labor because you may have to take a lot of the console out to get to them. I bought two for mine and replaced one that was easy to get to, but it turned out not to be the problem. I have been told the other is much harder.
