Just got my 2012 back from Infiniti and diagnostics were "both climate seats inop." Diag faulty TED'S Blower fans are week. they gave me an estimate repair of $5,400.00. Does anyone have an idea how to do this job, or an alternate opion of repair?

SEAT Service Manual

here is the same service manual infiniti techs would have. just saying "inop" but they are week [sic] does not mean much. did they remove the seats? how did they come to this conclusion? how did they diagnose?

what issues were you seeing? low air output? no "heat" or "cooling" function?

this car is used or new? meaning, are you the only owner?

its possible the air filter is clogged and removing it/cleaning it will help with airflow.
if the fans are working and not causing a high resistant load on the circuit, they may just be dirty/poor airflow.
those perforated holes in the seats get clogged and air is reduced. you can try a vacuum cleaner and run it over the holes to try and removed any debris clogged up in the holes.

ill say those blowers are not all that good anyway. in the summer they help for about 5 minutes then the air is room temp. its not worth 4500 dollars or even half that to repair.

if you are mechanically inclined and have the time/space, you can remove the seat and replace the blowers yourself.

SE-112 on the service manual begins the seat removal process. here are some random videos online to give you a 30,000-foot overview of how the process can go...

Thank you, I watched both videos and now have a greater understanding of TED. I will pull passenger seat and see if I can find a problem and fix or replace. ALSO i WILL TRY SOME OF THE TRICKS YOU OUTLINED. To try and fix befor I get at it.

Answers to your questions: 1. No did not remove seat. 2. Did a diagnostic test. 3.I was seeing the turn on, light comes on, then shuts off. 4. No heat or cooling. 5. Car is new to me, only had for 4 months.

You may have just solved the issue I just posted about. Fingers crossed.
