hi i am new and looking to purchase a pre owned g25x
any data or experience out there to see which year model is more reliable/less prone to issues 2011 or 2012?
also anything specific to lookout for when buying this car?

Thank You!

Hi, I just traded in my 2011 G25x for a 2013 G37x. Both are excellent cars. I read (not sure if true) the G25 run was limited produced in 2011 with overstock sold as 2012s. I haven't read of any difference between the two years as to what you are asking. I made sure to look up any recalls and "technical service bulletins" for the car. If the related repairs apply to the car you buy, you can go to an authorized Infiniti dealer and have them check if your car has had the repair. If not you can schedule to have the repair made. I'm not sure if the forum allows posting weblinks, but I'll try. Start here: https://www.automd.com/tsb/infiniti_m/g25_mm/2011_y/

For vehicle recalls I thought US Dept of Transportation, NHTSA? had a site where you could search by vehicle - year. You could probably google and find it.

Let us know what you get.

That's a nice upgrade, Lancelot! The G37 has so much more power. But the design of both, including the G25, is really nice and that 4 cylinder saves gas for anyone who doesn't need the power of the 3.7 liter V6.

Actually the G25x I owned had I believe the VQ25H engine. This is a very smooth V6. I don't buy Infinitis to get best gas mileage. They're not so bad tho. With my lead foot I averaged 18.1 mpg. That's driving in a city with lots of steep hills and moisture in the air. The auto climate control usually set the AC on automatically. I'd take in an occasional trip on the interstate which would improve mileage. That's how I enjoyed driving it. ;)
